and so it begins...
i guess its better late than never. my first post! it's been over a month since I left Toronto. where did all the time go? yet, sometimes it feels like i've been gone for so much longer. I thought I would have posted by now, but I thought wrong. I sit here in a hostel in Reykjavik, Iceland after arriving in this country yesterday. looking ahead to my time here. but before I do that, I need to reflect on the past month, which I spent mainly in belfast, UK (ireland) with my sister and brother-in-law. It's always nice to see family, especially my sister, who I haven't seen in a little over a year. so, in a way, it kind of felt like home, except in an unfamiliar environment. to me a perfect way to start this journey. i think doing a long exacting account of all that i did in ireland would be futile at this point. so maybe just some highlights of the past month will be best. i will include them as new posts to follow shortly. i'm unsure as to how to handle photos with my blog. i have taken many and posted them to flickr. and maybe for the time being will just include a link to the relevant sets, but if some of you prefer to see photos right here on my blog, please let me know. that can be done, but keep in mind, its more work for me :) anyways, i've been writing for the past couple of hours, and all of the sudden, i have a flood of posts coming up all at once, so get ready and try to hang on!
